Take Control of Your Anger
Anger isn't the problem. It's what we do with it that matters. Our 12-week program helps you learn skills without shame or judgment.
Program Overview
Our anger management class is a structured 12-week program that combines psychoeducation with practical skill-building. Each session provides tools you can apply immediately to manage anger in your relationships, at work, and in daily life.
This program is court-approved for mandated participants and is also open to anyone who wants to develop better anger management skills. Led by Micah Bolden, LCSW, the class creates a supportive group environment where participants learn from both the facilitator and each other.
What You Will Learn
This program goes beyond surface-level anger management techniques. Participants develop a deep understanding of the emotional and cognitive processes behind anger. You will learn to recognize the early warning signs of escalation, identify the specific thoughts and situations that trigger your anger, and replace reactive behaviors with intentional, constructive responses.
The program draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles, teaching you to challenge and restructure the thought patterns that fuel anger. You will also practice communication skills rooted in assertiveness training, learning how to express your needs clearly without aggression or withdrawal.
By the end of the 12 weeks, graduates report improved relationships at home and at work, reduced conflict, better emotional regulation, and increased self-awareness. The skills you develop in this program are not temporary fixes. They are tools you will carry with you for life.
Court-Approved Completion Requirements
For participants attending under court mandate, Bold Steps Therapy provides a certificate of completion upon finishing all 12 sessions. Participants must attend all sessions in order to receive the certificate. If you miss a session, you may make it up during the next available class cycle. Micah will work directly with your attorney or probation officer if documentation is needed at any point during the program.
