Meet Micah Bolden, LCSW
Hi, I'm Micah, a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Bold Steps Therapy. I am licensed to provide therapy in Texas and Colorado, but Dallas is home.
Before starting my private practice, I spent years working in intensive outpatient, nonprofits, criminal justice, homeless services, and foster care and adoption.
At Bold Steps Therapy, my practice is culturally competent, gender and sexuality inclusive, and rooted in real accountability and progress.

Education and Training
Micah holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Texas and Colorado. His clinical training includes specialized coursework in trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral interventions, and group facilitation.
Before founding Bold Steps Therapy, Micah spent years working across some of the most demanding clinical settings in the social work field. His experience includes intensive outpatient programs, nonprofit community organizations, criminal justice settings, homeless services, and foster care and adoption agencies. This breadth of experience gives him a unique ability to connect with clients from all walks of life and to understand the complex, intersecting challenges people face.
Clinical Philosophy
Micah believes therapy should be practical, direct, and empowering. His sessions combine evidence-based techniques with genuine human connection. He focuses on helping clients build self-awareness, develop concrete skills, and take accountability for their growth. Therapy is not about being comfortable all the time. It is about doing the work that leads to real, lasting change.
His practice is intentionally inclusive. Bold Steps Therapy welcomes clients of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and family structures. Micah is especially passionate about providing culturally competent mental health services to men, BIPOC individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
My Approach
My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy, tailored to your unique goals.
In our sessions, expect a mix of straightforward conversations, practical tools, and maybe even a few jokes.
If you are ready to do the work, let's take bold steps forward, together.
Modalities I Use
CBT for restructuring negative thought patterns that drive anxiety, depression, and self-defeating behaviors.
DBT for building emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
Narrative Therapy for externalizing problems and rewriting the stories that define how you see yourself.
Gottman Method & EFT for couples seeking to rebuild trust, deepen connection, and improve communication patterns.
